This song was written for one of the orphans that lived at the Mission I lived at. He died about a year ago and this song is simply a rejoicing at his entrance to his eternal home. His troubles and pain is over, and I will see him soon.
This song took over five months to produce, start to finish. It has gone through 3 major versions, 2 lyrics changes, 2 melody changes, and 2 name changes. I'm so glad to be DONE with this nightmare.
lyrics
I recall those summer days
we nearly froze to death
now I regret my bitter ways
and sigh with every breath
But now I trust with every prayer
I'm covered by the tree
because I didn't see the billionaire
that you would someday be
AJ welcome to your home
now you're not alone
captive in your skin
AJ death has lost its sting
now the angels sing
AJ welcome home again
When I reach the promised land
and see you face to face
I can't wait to take your hand
and give you my embrace
I once thought my patience grew
and you had been the key
but it was nothing when compared to yours
you had to have with me
Up where the stars are born
and lightning strikes the holy ground
up in the living solar fields
forever embracing heaven's arms
all of us waiting here
until that great trumpet sounds
it's just around the bend
i can't wait to see you my friend so pray
AJ welcome to your home
now you're not alone
captive in your skin
AJ death has lost its sting
now the angels sing
AJ welcome home again
